Throughout time and across culture, those who feel called into spiritual and artistic practice have created their own collection of magikal objects to help focus and inform their work. Tools of sound-making—such as drums, bells, rattles and our own voice—are among the most important. You are invited to gather in ceremony to bring to life such a tool to support your practice.
During this gathering (part workshop and part ceremony) you will be guided in creating your own ceremonial rattle inside a container of ritual, community, and deep listening to what wants to come through your craft. Throughout the gathering, I will share the ways I bring rattles and drums into my practice (Reiki & Celtic-inspired ritual) with self and others.
I will provide all necessary materials, including:
Raw hide rattle bulb (made by The Different Drum)
Handle materials including: Antlers and branches of Birch and Manzanita
A wide variety of items to adorn your rattle, including gemstone beads, fur, leather, bells and a wonderful assortment of odds and ends
Paint and brushes for adding symbols or images to the bulb if desired
Snacks and a free-flow of house-made tea
You are welcome to bring any additional adornments or handle materials you feel called to use in your rattle.
