Welcome…
You may be here because you are seeking a brave community of practice where you can ask difficult questions, and show up as your full self.
You may know intuitively that the art and form of Reiki has deeper layers you have not yet accessed, and you feel those depths calling you.
You’re seeking folks who intentionally explore the connections between our internal experience and our external lives. You know that a key purpose for spiritual and self-reflective work is so that we can show up as better people in the world, and you want a space where this connection is made clear.
Perhaps you feel frustrated with spiritual communities that demand you bring only “Love and Light,” leaving no room for the messy fullness of life. You long to be held in an established Reiki Community of Practice who are invested in personal and collective transformation.
Then my friend, you have come to the right place…
The HeartScapes Community of Practice is a trauma-informed space that makes room for the full range of human experience. We are a diverse community with a social justice orientation, understanding that our healing work is connected to a wide web of people working towards healing and justice in the world.
We are a deeply supportive, creative and dynamic space, sharing wisdom and accountability, so that you experience connection, understanding and growth along your spiritual journey.
For all these reasons and more, we invite you to connect with us.
Schedule:
We meet every Third Saturday of the month from 10:00am - 11:30am. Meetings are offered virtually over Zoom.
Joining is easy! Here’s how: Invitations are sent each month through our email newsletter (sign up at bottom of this page) and on our Facebook group. If you are signed up for either or both of these, you’ll receive the invite and Zoom link each month, and can join for any sessions you want.
Investing in Practice:
We offer all of our classes at a sliding scale, along with scholarships for some classes, in order to make this work as accessible as possible. This pricing flexibility is made possible by the small sliding-scale donations for Practitioner Circle. We ask for a minimum donation of $10 per Circle, and there are two ways to contribute:
You can pay at the time of each Circle at the PayPal link below (or by cash or check when we meet in person).
For greater ease and flexibility, we encourage you to sign up for a Practitioner Circle Subscription. This allows you to choose a recurring monthly payment amount, which gives you access to both monthly Circles any time you wish to join. You’ll also have access to our quarterly 21-Day Practice Journeys (see below for details). We strongly recommend this option, as it both encourages your own consistency of practice, and provides a stronger base of support for our scholarship program. You can select a plan below, all give equal access:
Seasonal 21-Day Reiki Journeys:
In order to support you to begin or deepen your practice within Reiki and the Cycles of Nature, we host Seasonal Practice Journeys leading up to each Equinox & Solstice. During these journeys, we explore a specific practice or theme derived from the Nature-based foundations of Reiki. For the 21 days leading up to each Equinox and Solstice, we host a daily 30-minute practice space. Participants are welcome to drop in for any or all of these sessions, where you’ll be guided into and through a powerful practice session. NOTE: You do NOT need to be a Reiki practitioner to participate. You need only have curiosity on the subjects, and a desire for guided sacred practice from a nature-based lens.
Our Teaching Roots:
We explore, experience and practice Reiki from the perspective of the Japanese origins of the system. We find that by rooting deeply in the specific origins of Reiki, we build a stronger intuitive sense of what is possible inside of this practice, and experience deeper freedom and organic intuition in the ways we practice.
In this way, our practice becomes an alchemy between the soil from which the system grew and our own individual response and special magic.
The facilitators of this group (Michaela Daystar and Joe Gee) are not, ourselves, Japanese (Michaela from Celtic/Scottish/Welsh origins, and Joe a 3rd generation Chinese-American). And so we approach this practice with the utmost respect and gratitude for the indigenous Japanese system that have become our primary spiritual practice.
