This spring a special new friend joined the collection of sound tools and instruments here at HeartScapes: a 30” Mother Drum, whose deep resonant tones and communal nature beautifully enhance the rituals, healing sessions and celebrations hosted here.
And we have a very special opportunity to drop into relationship with this magnificent instrument through ritual and play, led by the master drum-maker who made her!
Dating back at least 10,000 years, the Mother Drum is the oldest of the tympanic drums.
It is also the most powerful as it is the only drum – the only musical instrument – designed to be played by a group.
This group play gathering is unlike that of any “normal” drum circle. It’s truly a gift from Spirit to be experienced.
Master drum-maker Don Schultz will share this gift with us during this group ritual, as we work with (and possibly name?) HeartScapes’ new Mother Drum.
Limited to 10 participants. Because of the ceremonial nature of this gathering, we are not charging a set fee, but rather asking you to choose a donation amount you can joyfully offer to Don for his time and talent, and optionally to HeartScapes Studio for hosting the space.
