This experience is for people who wish to build their individual and collective resilience to the stresses and pressures of life, to access their own internal source of Joy, to build connection with each other through heartful engagement, and learn strategies for building a language and practice of joy into their lives.
Overview:
In a world of increasing complexity and pressure in all realms of life, and in a culture that teaches us to seek happiness from external sources and stimuli, it is a radical act to seek our joy from within, and to insist on the capacity of every human to do so. This practice represents a return to the ancient wisdom and power of the human species, and a powerful strategy of resilience and thriving in our lives today.
The Book of Joy , written by the Dali Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu, presets a template for how each of us can live our lives from the deep well of pure joy that is our birthright. But simply reading the book and learning the concepts is not enough to bring about the personal transformation described, one of claiming our power to “create and re-create our lives and the very quality of human life on our planet.” It is a template that must be lived into and directly experienced in order to take root in our hearts and lives. An embodied experience of the concepts and practices presented in The Book of Joy brings the wisdom contained therein into our lives through deep, heartful engagement.
